New Clothes For a New Job

I received a nice, big packet of papers to fill out for my new job as a language arts teacher this coming school year. It was the final step in securing this job for me, so I'm happy to have it in writing. There are still more meetings. . . which brings me to my next point- clothes! Because I haven't worked in a professional setting long-term, I don't have that many things to wear. So, now I have an excuse to go shopping and get some cool, but professional clothes. Don't forget, I'm teaching teens and it helps when they think you're cool. (It also helps to be 23). It amazes me what some teachers wear. No denim jumpsuits for me, thank you! Here are some things I have my eye on:

- This pink skirt from Gap and light pink sandals to match from Nine West

- This gorgeous tiger lilly pretty from Nordstrom

- This lovely apricot skirt and this top

Hey, my nose is pierced too! I keep mine in all the time - but it's college, so it's a different setting. Cool!! Do you have other piercings??? Tatoos?

Hannah: I don't have any other piercings. I used to have quite a few in my ears, but now I only have 3 in each and I usually don't use all the holes. I don't have tatoos either, but I've thought about it. Don't know what I'd get and it'd have to be small. Yeah, public school sucks in that respect. I got a polite scolding for wearing a sleavless blouse one time. Can't show shoulders or knees. Of course this is the south, but puh-lease!

Pretty Website..I was redirected over here by Stef! :) Nice clothing picks! FYI: Nordstrom's is having their Anniversary Sale in July, I think around the 16th! :)

Hannah: Thanks! I hope you'll come back. :-)

balto. city doesn't have a dress code, so it's great. i can dress like a fun young teacher as long as i don't show too much skin! love the skirts you picked out.

No shoulders or knees? Hmmm. I don't think the teachers at my school had such a dress code. Or maybe the school just didn't enforce it. And that was a while ago.

Looking at the style of your choices (which I like), I would also suggest checking out Banana Republic Women - toward the end of the summer, they usually have nice sales, on nice clothes.

Hannah: Thanks! I didn't think about checking there, but I definitely will.

I was just looking at my cousin's blog (www.lay-c.com/meisa) and today she is wearing that Gap skirt in red. She has dubbed it perfect.
