Lemon Butter Asparagus and Good 'Ol Cream Chipped Beef

Yes! Finally! My e-mail is up and running. :-) Here is a picture of the asparagus and creamed chipped beef I made a night ago. James said it was kind of an odd combination, but I covered my food groups and that counts for something, right? The creamed chipped beef was frozen, but here's what I did to the asparagus-- but first, a word of advice: Never boil your asparagus! Saute it or bake it! Of course, the baking time depends on the thickness of the asparagus. I baked mine at 350 for about 15 minutes with butter, lemon zest and a little lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Sometimes I also finely chop garlic, but I didn't want to smell. hehe.

I will post pictures and recipes tonight for the potstickers and fried rice I made last night.

hi there! thanks for dropping by! you have such a lovely blog! and the africa part immediately caught my eye because cindy, my future sister in law, and her husband go to Zambia every year for the Zambian Medical Mission under their church..and yes, i have watched Hotel Rwanda and i think it's brilliant! Too bad Don Cheadle had Jamie Foxx contending for best actor with him..otherwise, any other year, i believe he would have won!

Hey great dishes. I am so tired lately that my cooking has become somewhat boring! i.e. we generally eat whatever can be unwrapped, microwaved and shoved on a plate at the moment!

It all looks really great :)

OK... that IS a really weird combination :) Silly :)

I always steam my asparagus. I have a great recipe for grouper oscar (I think that's what it's called) with pan fried grouper, hollandaise sauce, and fresh steamed asparagus on top. Basically, you just layer in that order, bottom to top, and grind fresh pepper... OH MY. Delicious!

I admire you for your love of cooking. Unfortunately I lost that urge a long time ago as it is not fun cooking up a storm for just me. So my stepfather who absolutely just loves to cook and cooks every night for my mother, also cooks for me and I stop off each night after work to collect my supper - spoilt, aren't I?
