Good Reads

mags.jpg

Recently, I subscribed to a few food magazines: Bon Appetit (I re-newed this one), Saveur, and Tea Time. I also have been reading Gourmet Magazine because Anthony Bourdain now writes for it. He was the chef who did the series "A Cook's Tour" on the Food Network. He also is an amazing author, writing with both sarcasm and a kind of hidden compassion if that makes any sense. Anyway, I have also been enjoying some travel magazines too, like Travel and Leisure.

I was wondering, what magazines do you read/subscribe to? And please don't hesitate to respond if you are one of my dear South African readers. I love purchasing magazines abroad and I'll look for it when I'm there-- same goes to any reader from another country. I love foreign magazines. :-)

I have to try "Tea time" out..sounds rather interesting. I have subs to Oprah, Family Fun and to Martha Stewart's Living. I also buy a few here and there like Weight Watchers (yummy recipes in there!) and also Better Homes and Gardens.

US Weekly is my favorite! Also: Martha Stewart Living (loooove the recipes and home stuff), Better Homes & Gardens, Glamour, and Fitness.

Have you tried www.discountmagazines.com? that's where I get all my magazines- it's SO cheap, you save a ton of money!!

I read Real Simple, Everyday Food and Kraft food's "Food and Family". Great, simple, tasty recipes and best of all it is free!! All you have to do is sign up at the website.

OH, how funny because I just love American Magazines. There is an entire industry here which imports American mags, and sells them at a fraction of the cost because they're usually a month or two 'old'. My favorite local mags are "Your Family"- a real chick mag, full of recipes, sewing projects and general family life stuff. THen there's also "Your Pregnancy" which I'm reading at the moment for obvious reasons! "Heat" is our version of "People" although we do get People here too. There are so many!

i subscribe to saveur, cooks illustrated (always good recipes), sunset, gourmet, budget living, readymade and food & wine. when i go to the store, i usually look out for design mags and those i buy depending on the topic because they are expensive. i like japanese craft mags - always fun to look at since i can't read it. and i enjoy british food mags like waitrose. the only fashion mags i browse are instyle and vogue. look at what you started, hannah!

I subscribe to Cook's Illustrated, Sunset, San Francisco Magazine, and the New Yorker. I frequently pick up Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, Budget Living, and Ready Made. I get free copies of 7x7 Magazine (another San Francisco magazine) and Calfornia Home & Design, since I work for both of them. My vice is reading celebrity gossip magazines (Us, People) and InStyle when I go for a pedicure. And I buy way too many knitting magazines--especially Knit.1 and Family Circle Easy Knitting.

I like to read Saveur, Vogue, Loulou (it's Canadian & all about shopping!), Frommer's Budget Travel, Shape and knitting magazines. Oh and I like Vanity Fair for the old Hollywood articles when they have them.

I currently get Oprah and I read Real Simple when the office where I work gets a new copy in. I'd love to subscribe to that in the future. Your tea mag sounds really interesting!
