Help!

Ok, so I am giving my first dinner party/get-together in ages (we miss you Stef and Mike). This weekend we are having some friends over and I can't decide what to make. Since cooking is my thing, but it's been a while since I've organized something like this, I need help! I have some ideas of what to make, but I'm not quite sure. Help! Any ideas for side items or other entry suggestions are welcome.

What Should I Make for Our Dinner Party?
lasagna
potstickers
fettucini alfredo
fajitas

I like dinner parties/get-togethers where you can eat a bunch of little appetizers and have drinks. You can make so many different types of finger-foods, present them really creatively, people don't get really really stuffed and then have a spectacular dessert (and tea, of course!). I think whatever you do will taste great - from your pics the food you make ALWAYS looks good!

i voted for fajitas - since it's going to be cinco de mayo :) we miss you guys too - come visit us when you're not travelling to far off exotic continents :)

Feeling a little dumb here...what are postickers?
I have never heard of that. I think the fettucini sounds fabulous. That or the lasagna.

I voted for fajitas ... everyone could make their own! That would be fun ... it would get everyone involved in the cooking process! Hope you have fun with your dinner party!

I'm with Lisanne - I was thinking the same thing. There's something more fun about a meal where you get to participate in the preparation.

I attended a wedding on Sunday and during the cocktail hour there was a fajita station. On one end was beef fajita filling, and on the other end was chicken fajita filling. There were flour, cornmeal, sundried tomato, and spinach tortillas (cut in half so you could easily try more than one type)and bowls of cheese, pico di gallo (sp), onions, scalions, guacamole, salsa, sour ceam etc. It was great fun making and trying different fajitas.
