More Travel Gadgets

san disk.jpg

Thank you to those of you who gave me advice about storing my pictures. We had a gift certificate to Best Buy, so we put it towards a 512 meg memory card. We are also borrowing another card from James's work, so even with high resolution we should have room for plenty of photographs.

In other gadget news, I finally got me an MP3 player. Eventhough I initially wanted a pink mini IPod, I decided to go with this 1.0GB one from SanDisk because 1)One AAA battery lasts for 15 hrs and I never have to worry about having to send it back to Apple and 2) It was much cheaper and I'm on a budget here people!

We finally narrowed down what toys we are bringing with us. We are leaving the laptop at home to save space, but we are bringing the portable DVD player, camcorder, and MP3 player. We also ordered a conversion kit for South Afica and Swaziland. We are going to be moving around a bit, so the less we bring, the better!

Fun new toys! You will be so glad you are minimizing, it is so worth it whenever you're traveling, whether the space is there or not!

You talked below about the Lord's mysterious ways - one year about $2500 worth of stuff was stolen from our van in our driveway (we've learned to lock the doors since then), the money from insurance came back with more than expected at a time we really needed it. Never would've imagined we'd be even a little grateful for that at the time.

The only part I'm still sad about was my very expensive camera that was a gift from my hubby was stolen with all that as well and we missed about three months of pictures from my second little guy's first year of life :(.

You're going to Swaziland! Wow, crazy! hehe :) I don't even know where that is, LOL! :D

Hannah, could I have your mailing address? I have a little something that I want to send you.

that's a good plenty of space for photos and for your music. i do have to speak up for the ipod. we have a 3rd generation 15gb one and we have never had problems with the battery :) and it's almost 2 years old. and even if i had to buy a new ipod, i wouldn't get an ipod mini - the memory on them is just not worth it dollar for dollar. i'll probably go for 30 gb or higher.

but forgive the rant and yay for your new toys!
