Because the theory goes like this..if you 'did it' on the day you ovulated, chances are you're having a boy..if you did it within 3 days before or after you ovulated, then it's a girl. The theory has proved true for 8 of my friends including me (I made sure to 'shag' on the day because I wanted a boy!) Basically it's thought that the y (boy)chromosome sperm swim faster, but don't last as long, whereas the girl sperm swim slower but can live for up to 3 days in your uterus, somehow this equates to the theory I mentioned above! Try work it out and see if it works for you!

as for us chinese, we have a calendar and depending on your year of birth, it will affect the gender of your child. it's worked for my aunt all 3 times ;)
