Weekend Re-cap

We had such a busy weekend that I forgot to post!!! That's not like me as you all know. Ok, to sum up the time since I last posted:

*Friday felt like the last day of school for the whole year. (well, technically it was, but I mean the whole school year. These kids had no fear and didn't care about getting in trouble). The kids were nuts, but I did get some nice gifts and ate too many sweets. I've been trying to be careful because I've heard the more sugar you consume, the greater the change of getting gestational diabetes. No thanks!

*Friday night we went to a fabulous party at the nicest country club in town. The owner of James's company is an avid golf player and always holds the company Christmas party in the ballroom there. I didn't do much dancing, and unlike GFF who danced the night away, people actually asked me why I wasn't dancing. "Isn't exercise good for the baby?" Yes it is, thank you, but not for my aching feet. I wore gorgeous, but somewhat uncomfortable pointy-toed heels and I wasn't about to take them off, only to rip the bottom part of the only pair of maternity stockings I own. No thank you! I also wasn't feeling espcially well, as evident by the fact that I puked my guts out when I got home. Damn acid reflux. And it didn't help that everyone wanted to give my belly a good rub. Not welcome when you are nauseated.

*Saturday, James took me to lunch at a local cafe called Jumpin' Java. We enjoyed chai tea lattes, sandwiches, salads, and we split some veggie sushi. Yum! Then, we went to a wedding and I burst into tears as soon as I saw the bride walk down the aisle. I think I made a fool of myself, but luckily, my hubby had stuffed tissues in the pockets of his new suit knowing that is overly-emotional pregnant wife might just burst into tears at an inappropriate moment. In my defense, the friend who got married lost her first husband a few years back and never thought she'd re-marry. I was so happy for her, and for her young daughter who now has a daddy. Ok, about to cry again. *sigh*

*Saturday night, we ordered Subway and watched "The Skeleton Key" which I really liked. We had a fire going and the tree lights on and it was wonderful. Sadly though, we learned that night that some friends from church lost their 20.5 week pregnancy. The baby just couldn't breathe, even with help. This news even brought a tear to my husband's eyes (James, are you reading this? Can I admit that you cried on the internet???) I think it hit close to home for us since she was only a few weeks behind us in her pregnancy. Her baby was just born too soon. :-(

*Sunday morning we went to church, and I led my first ever Sunday school lesson in our adult class. It amazes me that I can teach middle schoolers just fine, but get really nervous teaching adults. After church, we had lunch with some other couple, and one couple has a 3.5 month daughter. I think James and I spent most of the lunch fixated on the baby, both thinking that ours will be here in no time flat. Which leads to Sunday afternoon. Clean, clean, clean! I worked James's butt off. He's on a break from his master's and this is the only time. You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff waiting to go to Salvation Army. When and how did we accumulate so much??? It feels good to be getting somewhere finally. We cleaned closets, James's office, and got rid of a lot of stuff from the baby's future room. I also dusted and cleaned everything in the kitchen and living room. We even cleaned the bathrooms.

Today I am off, but certainly not free. I dropped my dogs off at the vet this morning for a teeth cleaning (what a way to spend $400) and then paid bills and finished Christmas cards. Now I'm about to create my menu for the Christmas Tea I am hosting Wednesday evening and go mail some stuff. I'm also going to bake more fudge-- some for James's co-workers and some for the tea. Check back later for the menu.

Sounds like a blast! I'm so sorry you got sick. Make sure to take your tums w/ your acid reflux so you don't get esophageal burning.

I'm watching Bringing home Baby on TLC and cleaning around my house today. Enjoy getting all your stuff done! xoxo

Sounds like a great weekend. I'm so sorry for your friends. That is so sad. I heard this morning that my cousin's daughter (she was as far pregnant as me) has died. She is having a c-section today. It's just so sad

Wow, that is some weekend. I'm sorry for the sad points, but envious that you cleaned, and in your condition! Also envious of your Christmas Tea. I so want to do this. Please share more details about it if you have a chance.
