Lately, my overly-senstive pregnant self has been sad and disappointed over a number of things, some somewhat important, others not so significant. But hey, I'm entitled.
-- Our poor painter was in a car accident this morning on his way to come over and paint the nursery. Now we are going to be a week delayed, which means no setting up the furniture in the nursery this week.
-- I have a few pieces of furniture in my living room awaiting being picked up by Salvation Army. The room is cramped and it's annoying me.
-- I lost my small silver nose screw (I have my nose pierced) and I can't find it. I lost it last night-- it was on the counter in the bathroom. It's the smallest one I've ever seen and I know I'll never find another I like as much. Please hold good thoughts for me. I plan to search high and low when I get home. This loss really is enough to bring to tears nowadays.
-- A pregnant woman I know at work told me yesterday about the awesome new mixed drinks she had on New Year's Eve. I should've told her how horrible it was, but instead, I just stared at her, shocked. That poor baby. And I wonder why I teach so many dipshits. Parents make horrible choices!
Ok, now you're gonna pray I find my nose screw, right? :-)
Posted by Hannah at January 4, 2006 09:40 AMOh dear, she actually admitted to drinking alcohol. Yikes. Also being a teacher (and 26 weeks pregant), I often wonder lately about what my students' mothers did while they were pregnant. It really makes you wonder.
Posted by: chas at January 4, 2006 01:26 PMHoping you didnt "sniff" your nose screw up your sinuses!!! =)
Cant wait to see pictures posted of the nursery when its all finished!!!
Posted by: dazed at January 4, 2006 02:18 PMDo you read these comments probably? Its really admirable that you have the time and self discipline to write these. Is pregnancy mood swings worse than period mood swings? Remember in high school and junior high we'd be talking on the phone and all of a sudden I'd start an arguement over something completly stupid and you'd ask me if I was on my period and I'd check and the answer was yes and we'd laugh about it. Yeah drinking during pregnancy is totally uncool but if she couldn't control herself maybe she should get some help. Its not fair to babies you know. They don't get to pick what they eat or drink when they are in the womb and I truly doubt any of them are thinking "hey how about a drink so I can come into the world brain damaged" Poor babies. Lucky for your baby you are probably eating deliciously. (side note: Those cucumber sandwiches make me hungry. I've never had one before but they look delicious.) I know babies brains are not fully developed yet but their souls are developed right, so their souls could be thinking it even if their minds aren't. Well I'm just babbling. Do you think I'm right? I know this is a long random series of comments.Sorry about your painter. Hey if your house is too crowded you could pretend it is the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. Well talk to you later, how's the weather in Georgia. Is it cold like up here?
Posted by: Alicia at January 4, 2006 02:32 PMGosh, I hope your painter gets well soon to be able to finish the nursery. And i really hope you find the nose screw! ... And cheer up, things will get better :)
Ya, we hope to see pictures of the nursery when it's done :)
I didn't really have very many mood swings when I was pregnant, but I definitely felt a lot more emotional, if that makes sense. Like, I was very clingy and protective of Jeff and got teary a LOT at commercials and such. My period mood swings are AWFUL ... God help anyone who crosses my path during that time! LOL! :D I cannot BELIEVE that your coworker was talking about having mixed drinks while pregnant. How far along is she? I don't understand people sometimes.
Posted by: Lisanne at January 4, 2006 06:05 PMa few months ago i went clubbing with M and I kept seeing this pregnant lady drinking and SMOKING!!! I was so pissed off. I wanted to go up to her and tell her to stop what she was doing but unfortunately she was with 2 HUGE sumo looking guys.
Posted by: feli at January 4, 2006 09:12 PMDid you find it yet? You know, I have my nose pierced too - and I got my teeny, tiny nose screw at Claire's. Does that help any?
