A late Thursday night

Tomorrow is my darling hubby's birthday, and since I have so little time during the day because of a certain precious someone, I am up cooking and preparing for the dinner I am having tomorrow night. So far, I have made a ranch, bacon, and pea pasta salad and a spinach dip. I also made some mango peach iced tea and some regular iced tea (don't forget we're in the south and we like it sweet!) Next, I am making a 7 layer salad. (Someone tell me why so many of the "seven layer salads" recipes I've looked at have 8 and 9 ingredients? Hello! Can people count?) I have other stuff to make tomorrow, but these things are better over night, left to marinate.

As far as my cyst goes, it's become much more painful and the area is throbbing. I called the doctor and he scheduled an appt with a surgeon for Monday. I didn't want to have it cut out, but it really hurts and it's gotten bigger in spite of all the hot compresses I've done. I think heat reduces things that are filled with liquid, this seems to be rock hard. Anyway, the sooner it's gone the better I guess, so we'll see what he says!

After I finish cooking tonight, I am planning to *fingers crossed* take a hot, uninterrupted bath-- something I've been dying to do for a while. Hubby is in grad school, so I watch the baby in the evenings and I seldom have time (I've taken like one bath since Olivia was born).

Oh, and today, one of the moms from my nursing moms group invited me over for a "playdate" next week. Few of my friends here have babies, so I am excited! I feel left out ever since I had Olivia. It's a whole new world for me, but I'm lovin' it!

Happy birthday to James! Wow, he was almost a July 4th baby! hehe :) Your meal sounds delicious ~ he is one lucky guy! :) I *love* this layered salad that my grandma used to make ~ bacon, mayo, tomatoes, cheese, etc. I am craving salad lately, and I fixed a HUGE cobb salad last night for dinner. It rocked! ENJOY THAT BATH!!!!!

I hope you were able to take a bath. I can't tell you the last time I took a bath. Sorry it looks like you're going to have to have the cyst removed surgically but you'll feel so much better. Enjoy the birthday dinner and have fun at your play date. I really should have joined a play group.

That sounds awesome! Would you mind posting your pea recipe when you get time? I'd love to try to make that. I love ranch AND bacon AND peas! mmm! I'm so sorry about the cyst. I've always heard heat will increase circulation to areas (so if you want to pop a pimple, apply heat to bring the whitehead up) and ice reduces any swelling (by constricting the blood vessels). I've also heard of people first applying heat then ice!

Sorry about the cyst, sounds painful. I have one under my arm that I got during pregnancy, same idea with the extra hormones. I'll have to get it removed but it's not too bad at the moment.

Happy Bday to James! Dinner sounds Great!
Hope you have fun at your playtime. It's wonderful to get out with other moms that have things in common with you.

Sorry to hear about your cyst. I'll say a prayer that the removal process is quick and painless!

Tell James Happy Birthday to James! I will venture to guess it will be his best yet!

Hannah, I know what you mean about feeling left out. Do you realize I have seen you once for a quick meal and once after I chased you down in a parking lot.

The cyst sounds painful. Hope you can get that sorted out.

About the baths. I always take baby into bath with me. Zander LOVES to bath, so we often spend a long long time in there. Almost every night, unless *I'm* the one in a hurry :)
