I decided to add some shows I loved as a child to my Netflix queue. One of my favorites was the series "Avonlea" that aired on the Disney Channel. Did anyone watch it? I am having such fun watching it, even if I only am able to watch it in bits and pieces. I wanted to be Felicity King because I was a hopeless romantic and I loved Gus Pike. For those of you who are not familiar, this series originally aired in Canada, and it was based on the stories of L.M. Montgomery, who wrote "Anne of Green Gables." I also loved "Beauty and the Beast" with Vincent and Catherine as well as "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".
What shows did you love as a child?

Posted by: cady at August 14, 2006 11:22 AMI loved to watch the smurfs, the cosby show, three's company, blossom, full house, sisters, and golden girls. Funny that all the old re=runs are on tv now so late at night when i'm up with the baby I can catch some of my old favorites :) this was fun.
Who didn't love Dr. Quinn!! I always liked Sully the best.
My favorite show as a child was Mork & Mindy.
Posted by: Laura at August 14, 2006 02:01 PMDoh! I was into Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Cuz I was a dork.
I also loved Little House on the Prarie though and Degrassi Junior High.
I absolutely *loved* "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman!" I couldn't miss it! I remember how cute I thought Sully was, LOL! :) And I was always excited for them to get together. Didn't know that they made DVDs of the episodes ~ will have to add those to our NetFlix queue, as well!
Posted by: Lisanne at August 14, 2006 02:22 PMWho's the Boss, Growing Pains, Saved by the Bell, Knots Landing (I used to spend the night with my Grandma so I could watch it)! Perfect Strangers, Wonder Years, Boy Meets World. Every summer my brother and I would rent Freaky Friday over and over again. I also love to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Parent Trap. The list could go on...
Posted by: Amy at August 14, 2006 11:14 PMI love Anne of Green Gables!! I'm inspired to go read the books again, even tho since becoming a mommy the only thing I have time to read are Dr. Seuss books ;)
We have Netflix too...I may have to check out the Avonlea series.
Posted by: Candace at August 15, 2006 09:08 AMI could not get enough of the Fraggle Rock when I was a kid. My imaginary friend was Wimbley, the yellow on with the flower beach shirt...:) I have the first complete season on dvd, thanks to my bestest friend :)
I also was a fan of You Can't Do that On Television, and Mr. Wizard, Kids Incorporated, and Little House On the Prairie, which I have on dvd (i know wierdo!!). But those are the shows I grew up with and loved, oh lets not forget the Wonder Years!
