6 Months

My Daughter,

I cannot quite grasp that you are 6 months old already. You've been here for half a year already, yet in some ways, it's difficult to remember life before your arrival. Knowing I get to spend the rest of my life with you seems almost too good to be true. What a lucky mommy I am!

This has been a big month for you, literally! You had a huge growth spurt. I can't wait to see how long you are next week when we go to the doctor. You've gotten too long for many of your pants and I'm going to have to pack up your 6-9 month stuff very soon. This month, you acquired a new roll of fat on your arms and the ones on your thighs got even bigger! You still haven't had anything but my milk (except for trying rice cereal a few times) and you're thriving. I know it'll be time to introduce new things soon. In some ways, I'm looking forward to being able to feed you new flavors and be able to go palces without worrying about feeding you every 2-3 hours, but it'll also make me sad. I try to remind myself I'll still be nursing you for a while yet.

It's scary how quickly time is passing now that you're here. We all seem to be aging so quickly these days. I just want to freeze time-- to preserve these moments I have with you. I have never felt so fulfilled as I do that I'm your mommy.

We had hoped that as you approached the 6th month mark, you'd begin sleeping in longer stretches again and might actually consider taking a nap longer than 20 minutes, but I guess it's something we have to look forard to for the next month, or the one after that. Just don't wait too long.

This month has been marked by much teething discomfort. I never thought we'd get to 6 months without any teeth. I saw the tiny white of a tooth a few months ago, and now your poor little gums are swollen over it. I hope next month I can happily report that the tooth (or teeth) is/are through and you are feeling better. I hate that you are uncomfortable.

I love you, my Olivia Beth. You are a much-loved little girl and I hope you always know that.

It's amazing how fast the time is passing. Those teeth will be here before you know it, and they'll be very sharp! Lila's just appeared one day after at least a month of swollen gums. Luckily, those bottom ones don't cause any discomfort while nursing.

Enjoy that baby, Hannah. Olivia is a doll!

Happy six months!!! Can you believe it? At this time last year, Lucas was celebrating *his* six months. Incredible! Those are adorable photos.

Your tributes to Olivia as just so sweet...I wish I'd started my blog sooner so that I could've done that w/Kendall (I can start it now though :). It's hard to believe Olivia is already 6 months! The pictures of her are adorable & she's very lucky to have a Mom like you that loves her so much! Happy 6 months Olivia :)

WE are all blessed to be mothers. Such an awesome feeling.
Don't worry - even when she starts solids she might want to nurse every three hours. Zander still does lol

Holy Guacamole. It's really 6 months? Isn't it amazing how you only realise exactly how quickly time flies, when you have kids? The bubby stayed with my mom for three days last week (days and nights) while I had the radioactive treatment on my thyroid - and - when I got him back - he'd like grown an inch or something it was amazing :)
