Working it (and hair)

Pilates was totally amazing. The instructor worked my abs something fierce. I didn't know much about pilates, but it focuses a lot on your mid section, or your core. Well, my core could use some toning. She said that if you have muscles in your stomach that aren't toned, your neck often makes up for it, and with my lame-o stretched out abs, my neck is totally feeling it. Anyway, I think I'll keep up with it and maybe add another class for cardio. I also walk a lot with MF. We stopped for a few weeks over the holidays, but we started up again and went a couple miles yesterday. Go us!

Today I got my hair cut a bit shorter, and had layers added. At first, when I saw how short some of the layers seemed, I was kind of freaking out, but I actually really love it now. I'll post a picture later. Right now, my hair looks like crap because I didn't even let her blow dry it. My sister was watching Olivia and waiting on me, so I let it dry naturally, and it looks yucky because I didn't comb it until after it dried in a funky way.

Oh, and speaking of hair, go read this. If you are registered at "Real Savvy Moms", you can leave a comment there. If not, than what the heck are you waiting for? :-) If you're not, you can come back here and tell me that I'm right. :-) I'm joking, but really, I probably am because when it comes to disagreements between me and the hubby, I'm always right of course! :-)

I think you're right. It would make you feel good, and that's important.

Enjoy your hubby this weekend..

Glad you liked Pilates~it sounds like you're well on your way to accomplish your goals :) Can't wait to see your hair pics! I read your post @ your other blog & I think you're right! If it'll make you feel better, you should do it. Good luck :)

i love pilates... I have a couple dvd workouts from gaiam.com... if you do a long enough work out you don't have to do cardio because you are getting your heart rate up without all the crazy bouncing and stuff hehehe... balance ball workouts are great also... enjoy!

Good for you for taking the class! That and the hair cut and high lights help you to feel good about yourself. It's sweet your husband said those things and its normal to worry about your money but so is your self worth. Good luck!

Pilates sounds awesome! Once upon a time when I was healthy and went to the gym, I use to do core conditioning classes.. so much fun and they really worked your core muscles. I did a pilates class once and could not move for a week afterards. Hehe.

With regards to your hair, I would try to find some sort of middle road with the highlights. Find a good kit and have your mom or a friend help you with the highlights (I like the Revlon two-in-one kits...they run about $20). Or find a reputable school to have it done cheaper. My word of caution is that once you start, it is really hard to stop. I did the expensive highlights and lowlights a few times, and it seemed like I had to get them touched up more frequently and that really cost a lot of $$. In the end I had to dye over everything and I'm still trying to get back to my natural hair color. Good luck!

I tried Pilates once and wimped out. Then I got pregnant and haven't tried again. I'd like to find a class though.

I've never tried pilates but want to. I've done yoga but I don't know if it's similar. Can't wait to see a pic of the new 'do. I'd love to *do* something with mine (have some sort of actual hairstyle) but I know I am too lazy to do anything beyond wash and air dry so I just leave it long and I can pull it back whenever.
