>I posted about my shoe dilemna here. I desperately need some springy shoes. We're going to the coast for a mini-vacation and I want something that'll look good with a variety of ourfits, like flip flops would, except that I really shouldn't wear them. These might work . . .
>Speaking of our trip, we're going to Savannah because I hear it's gorgeous and I've never been. I'm pushing to stay in this awesome hotel on the water. We'll see what our checking account says about that. Our taxes are almost done. *Fingers crossed for a big return!!!*
>When we have playgroup in my moms' group, I am always hesitant to put Olivia down to play. Very few moms pay attention to their kids. I'm tired of her getting hit, pushed, and stepped on when she's crawling around. Kids will be kids, but they also need to be watched!!! Not sure how to handle this. Do I say something? A few of us with younger babies feel are irritated. I don't want to blame the kids, even though some of them are totally bratty, but it's lack of repsonsibility on the parents' part that makes these kids think they can do whatever they want!
>I am such a sucker for Lifetime movies lately. They are mindless and sometimes really cheesey. Perfect for unwinding!
>I've been exercising a lot with my jogging stroller. I can tell my waist is getting more defined. Now, if I could only get back my smoking ass!
>I'm kinda sorta maybe considering bringing along some lingerie on our little trip. I haven't worn anything sexy in a looooong time. So what if my tummy is covered with zebra-like stretch marks, my boobs are leaky, and I can pull loose skin away from my tummy from here to Timbuktu? My husband thinks I'm hot, and I'm determined to get my confidence back! I'm not a plus sized girl, and although I'm no longer wearing jeans in a single digit size, I still want to be sexy for my man. Now if I could only tolerate a thong . . .
>They say that indoor air is more polluted than outdoor. So, in my effort to get our family healthier, and because I've been trying to go a bit more "green", I decided to buy some environmentally friendly~ and most importantly, SAFE~ cleaning products. No chemicals! I feel comfortable wiping down Olivia's high chair and tub with them, and best of all, the nice lemony scent is real!

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for the cleaning product info! I've been worrying about the same sort of things and wondering what the heck I'm going to do...now I know!
I'm also having a shoe dilemma...except I need casual brown shoes for work. What do people our age wear???? I'm too young for Clarks and too old for RocketDog. Gah.
Posted by: Chas at March 13, 2007 11:48 PMI just had to comment on the playgroup thing. I actually stopped going to playgroup because the bigger kids were stealing toys off my daughter and no one would say a word. (It didn't help that they were a really tight clique either.) Because the mothers weren't watching I used to just walk up to the offending child, remove him from the toy and give it back to my daughter. She was once run over by a kid in a car, I did the same thing, walked over and removed him. Never went back after that day.
Posted by: Emma at March 14, 2007 02:00 AMThanks for the tip on that "Citra-Suds" stuff! We love anything lemon, and I bet that it smells *really* good. Hey, sounds like your trip to Savannah will be fun ... and perhaps baby #2 nine months later (with all that lingerie)? LOL! :) Just kidding! :) If we were headed to Savannah, I would *so* want to visit Paula Deen's cooking school and her restaurant!
Posted by: Lisanne at March 14, 2007 08:32 AMCongrats on the defined waist!
That's so great about your cleaning products! I have bad chemical sensitivity (I can't even be around perfumes) so for years I've cleaned with things such as vinegar (it's a wonderful disinfectant). There's actually a great article about this in the current issue of Mothering Magazine.
Posted by: Jessica at March 14, 2007 08:39 AMI just got back from Savannah and can definetly tell you all about it! Shoot me an email or something if you want some ideas!!
As for shoes, what about those ballet flats that are in style these days? They are cute and very comfy =)
Posted by: Sara at March 14, 2007 08:45 AMSavannah's nice! And if you have a girl, it makes a good name ;) My brother used to go to SCAD, so I visited a few times.
I recently started using more baking soda and vinegar in my cleaning. Whole Foods' website has a page that lists various not-so-toxic concoctions for cleaning.
On the shoe front, how do you feel about mules/slides? Or shoes that look like sandals but have a closed toe? Or shoes that look like flip flops but cover your big toe (http://www2.llbean.com/product/44939.htm)? I recently got some Rhino Red athletic-y mary janes. They're mesh and super comfortable, but my feet do get a bit sweaty in them at times. More than you needed to know, probably.
