Thong advice

Lucky you. You get to help me shop for undies!!!! (I know you're so excited!!!)

Here's my situation. I've always worn regular underwear, preferably the cotton ones at VS. But then someone recently suggested I try a thong. I've tried one before, but only the ones that come with lingerie, but considering the situation, it didn't stay on too long. But I can say in those few minutes, having something up my crack felt kind of nasty. So, I'm wondering, have you ever worn a thong? If so, did you get used to that awful feeling?

And my biggest worry: are thongs only for skinny girls? What about girls with a few extra pounds (but I'm not plus-sized or anything)!

It would be easy to just buy what I'm used to, but my hips are so wide that my regular undies don't always cover my whole butt. I have true post-preggo hip spread. I weigh less than I did before!!!!

*I'll have to close this post soon because the spammers are going to LOVE IT! A$$holes.

I refused thongs for years until I finally admitted they were the best solution for almost everything I wear to work. One thing I never realized - thongs are terribly uncomfortable UNTIL you put on pants. Then it's like your butt completely forgets the icky wedgie feeling. That was my experience, anyway.

I LOVE thongs! I've worn them for years as my everyday underwear.

I think whether they fit & are comfy for you will probably have more to do with your body build than with your weight. Even though thongs are comfy on me they don't work well for my mom & sister.

I also love the no panty line deal. Hope you find a solution!

I wear ONLY thongs... I don't think I own a pair of full-backs! And I believe you and I are similar size, so you'll be fine! I LOVE VS Pink cotton thongs, wonderful. Just a warning, they may take a few days to get used to the "up the crack" feeling but then you will NEVER want to wear full backs. Try it for a week, at home where you're comfy, and you'll be sold. Try several different types... buy one from Walmart, one from VS, one from Penneys, etc. and find your favs!

Not having to worry about panty-lines is great! I have so many things that I wouldn't be able to wear if I didn't wear a thong. However, I don't wear a thong everyday.

I wear both...it just depends on my mood. I have found some brands to be really uncomfy but if you find the right brand you'll be fine. :)

I wear all kinds of underwear. I prefer low rise boy shorts. I wear thongs with certain pants though, and once you wear them a little while you kind of forget about it. I'd definitely go with cotton for sure; a little stretch is good.

I really wish I could wear thongs, I do. I have tried them but they drive me CRAZY! That's all I end up thinking about all day. Maybe I just haven't found the right pair or persevered long enough. It would be nice sometimes not to have a panty line but at least people know you're wearing underwear then and not pulling a Britney. :)

I tend to only wear thongs with outfits that really need them or if I'm trying to be sexy for hubbie. I have gotten used to the "flossed" feeling, but I'm more comfortable in my boy shorts most days. Some thongs are more comfortable than others and the width of the band does seem to matter. VS seem to make my favorites.

i've tried them before and they were not comfortable. i might try them again though, since most people here say you get used to it!

I used to wear thongs all the time, unti post baby I went to the full back cotton VS. I wear thongs only if I'm trying to be sexy (ha!) or if I am wearing something that would show panty lines. I get all of mine from VS. I saw that gff recommended the Pink line from VS. I love them, but find that they run small, so remember that if you end up buying them.
