National Day of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer. Just wanted to tell you all how much I love and appreciate you, and that I'll be saying a special prayer for you all today.

Take some time today to thank God for his blessings! :-)

Worried

Just wondering . . .

Has anyone heard from GFF? Her blog is now password protected, and I'm worried something's wrong. If you've heard from her, please let me know. She's a good friend and I want to know that everything's ok.

Thanks! :-)

Fun with GFF

Today was an awesome day! We got to meet Girl from Florida, her hubby, and the precious baby Amelia! James, Olivia, and I headed up to Atlanta to meet them at Lenox Square Mall and we had so much fun!!! I felt like I had always been friends with them, and we talked as if we knew each other in real life! Baby Amelia was so smiley and cute. Poor Olivia was not herself at all. She was so quiet and sleepy. We had our worst night ever last night with her waking up every 45 minutes or so with teething pain.

We browsed stores, ate a yummy lunch, and talked about me visiting her in Florida soon. :-) The hubbies got along well too, which was great because James tends to be quiet. I only hope next time we get together, Olivia is feeling better. Amelia smiled at her and reached for her to play. It was so cute!

I don't have any pictures to share (don't hate me). I brought my camera but never took any pictures! *slaps hand* I guess I wouldn't have posted them anyway because GFF is anonymous, as I sometimes wish I was.

Oh, and I re-uploaded pictures on my blog so everything should be back to normal. FINALLY!

Sunday Lunch

We just said goodbye to our friends from church. They came over for lunch and we had a nice time. One of the couples has a very moblie one year old, and I learned that I love A LOT of baby proofing to do before Olivia is moving around on her own. I have too many picture frames and knick-knacks that she can get to! It was nice to have friends over to eat. I made Mexican lasagna (alternating layers of seasoned beef, cheese, and soft tortillas. Then, on the top layer, I covered it with cheese and scallions. I also made sweet Mexican corn cakes, a salad and there was peach cobbler with ice cream and Starbucks coffee for dessert. Yum! It felt good to entertain.

I think the best part, though, was getting the house clean for our friends. My house hasn't been THIS clean in a year. I nested when I was pregnant, but I didn't tackle all of James's junk. Everything is so neat and I love it. If James so much as leaves one pair of shoes in the living room, I'm going to spank him! (and not that kind! LOL!)

Tomorrow, we are braving the teething and tryng again to get Olivia's portraits taken. I'm also planning on looking at Halloween costumes for Olivia!

Last night . . .

. . . I went out to eat. with friends. with the baby. It felt like old times, except that Olivia was happily sleeping next to me in her carrier-- that is, until she decided to wake up and scream. Luckily, her smart mommy had pumped milk to bring in a bottle. It felt so good to get out and see my friends, just like old times, except that some of my attention was spent trying to console the baby. I was trying to catch up on my news and gossip from my 2 good friends Rebecca and B. B didn't know I was coming, and when I walked in, he screamed. I know I've only been out of the loop a few weeks, but B has gone totally out and proud on me. He's always been gay, but he had on a tight tee and a bandana on his head. Whoa!

"So what have I missed at work?" (patting the baby)
"Are you and S officially a couple now?" (trying to bounce baby on knee)
"Are you going out later tonight" (wiping spilled milk off baby's chin)

I felt like Miranda from "Sex and the City". After she has her baby, she meets the girls as usual, but brings the baby. He is a constant distration and she begs her friends to pay attention to her and pretend things are the same. I was happy Olivia was there though. :-)

In case you didn't see above, Rebecca has started a blog. Go say hello! :-)

Overstepping the Line?

My friend B really worries me sometimes. He is gay and lately has become rather promiscuous. I know it's his life, but as his friend, I worry that he might have something and not know it. I have encouraged him to get tested, but he still hasn't. He might be spreading something around and not know it. Without getting into the details, he has been with a good many people. He's a great guy, but like many, he equates love with sex. I care about him so much. Should I keep bugging him or back off? If I had something and only found out due to a friend's urging, I'd probably be thankful. As someone who is rather conservative, I'm actually not at all judgemental when I give him advice, and he knows I have good intentions. He knows we are different. I just want him to be ok. Should I back off or continue my urging???
